What is Information Technology (IT)?
An Information Technology (IT) is a term which is define as a technique for feed, process, store, transmit, manipulate and retrieve data in a systematic way with the help of any electronic devices like computer, mobile phones and other communication channels.
What is Data & Information?
Data - Data is the raw material, which is given into the computer for processing.
Information - Processed data is called Information.
e.g. : 2+4 = 6
Here 2 and 4 are data, and 6 is Information.
What is Information System (IS)?
Information System is a mediator/bridge between technology and user. It is a complete system architecture and framework of any organisation.
In reality, Information Technology (IT) is a subset of Information System (IS).
Difference between Information Technology (IT) and Information System (IS)
Information Technology - It is a study, management and design of data within a particular system and protocol based on technology.
Information System - It refers the whole set of information, including Information Technology (technology based data) and individual non technology based data.
What is Computer Information Technology (CIT)?
It is the use and analysis of electronic/digital devices (like computers, mobile phones etc), webs, computer languages, and databases within an organisation for processing and solving real-time tasks.
What is Business Information Technology (BIT)?
It is a technology which is use to manage data and information of any business according to their protocols and requirements.
What was the first Information System?
Herman Hollerith developed the first large-scale mechanical information system in 1889, named Herman Hollerith's census tabulator (Electric Tabulating System) . It was invented in time to process the 1890 U.S. census. His machine represented a major step in automation, as well as an inspiration to develop computerized information systems.
